Inspiring Project Management Skills in the Next Generation

IPMA Kids in Montenegro

Through the IPMA Kids program, IPMA Member Associations promote the introduction of project management in education at an early stage. By encouraging project-based thinking, young learners develop key competencies such as collaboration, problem-solving, and structured planning, skills that are increasingly essential in today’s world.

To support this ambition, IPMA International created the IPMA Kids Challenge Book, an interactive guide that makes project management accessible and engaging through practical exercises and real-life scenarios. It enables a hands-on learning approach, helping students build confidence and essential life skills.

A strong example of this in practice is Montenegro, where IPMA Montenegro successfully applied to the Ministry of Education to introduce competence-based project management across the national education system. This marks an important step in embedding these skills into the curriculum and preparing the next generation for future challenges.

To further inspire educators and professionals, Van Haren Group and IPMA recently hosted a webinar on ‘The Challenge – Project Management Made Simple and Fun’, showcasing how project management can be brought to life for young learners.
